Benildus Hall at the College of Santa Fe Back to Portfolio

Benildus Hall, originally constructed in 1960, and designed in the “International or Modernist Style”, currently functions as the main classroom building for the College of Santa Fe. This project includes the renovation of the existing building that will serve an expanded Creative Writing program and an addition that will provide new space for the Contemporary Music Department. The Music Department will include two recording studios, control rooms, practice rooms, gamelan set up, world music school, composition and piano studios and a state of the art computer room.

The design integrates old and new by honoring the past, complementing the style of the existing building, and showcasing the present with an efficient, practical yet playful design where the elevation reflects the 5 line musical staff as a design for the windows.
