The
Krause residence was designed for a hilltop on Santa Fe’s north
side with sweeping views of mountain ranges and mesas to the east
and west. The home was sited to take advantage of the changing skies
and dramatic seasonal changes for which Santa Fe, and northern New
Mexico are known. The traditional adobe residence features antique
wood beams and doors throughout, and a dramatic “kiva-styled” entertainment
room/bar. Finishes and detailing include craftsman-designed tinwork,
ironwork, and woodwork; along with diamond trowel plaster walls
and fireplaces, and custom hardware. Traditional Southwestern portals
ring the north and west of the home for outdoor entertaining. Contemporary
features of the 3-bedroom home include an exercise room, office,
3-car garage, and master suite with sauna.
