The
Materials Technology Training Center (MTTC) at the University of
New Mexico is a 58,000 s.f combined prototyping/demonstration teaching
laboratory for the UNM mechanical engineering department. Individual
laboratories include optical/laser equipment, micro-electronics,
general chemistry/wet lab, photo lithography and video /computer
simulation lab, all related to computer chip development. A broadcast
TV studio for distance learning applications was included in the
project design.
The project contains 4,000 s.f. of class 10,000 clean room, a class
1000 clean room, demonstration 8” and 12” silicon wafer
equipment; 2,000 s.f. “workbench” electronic lab; 8,000

“The Manufacturing Technology Training Center, has been a
good project. I wish to compliment your firm for a job very well
done. This being the third job that I have completed with you, it
is without hesitation that I believe that your firm to be the market
leader in value design. You have produced a building that looks good,
has a spectacular entry, works well, and was built for less than
other buildings of comparable features. I look forward to working
with your firm again.”
