Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian

Back to Portfolio

The Wheelwright Museum expansion and renovation provides an entirely new collections and research component for one of the country’s preeminent museums dedicated to Native American arts and culture. Project objectives were to maintain the integrity of the original historic structure while providing expanded facilities and handicap accessibility. Natural stone, tinted concrete, and custom woodworking reinforce connections to nature and a sense of timelessness.

[Studio SW] provided permanent solutions to old problems and are cost-effective....Studio SW has been sympathetic to the beautiful site and historic landmark. They have represented the museum in public hearings and have been responsive to the museum’s needs virtually every day of the process.... We have been very pleased with Studio SW and plan to work with them on further renovation/expansion projects. I would be happy to answer any questions regarding their Performance.
