ANDERSON ABRUZZO ALBUQUERQUE INTERNATIONAL BALLOON MUSEUM

Albuquerque, New Mexico

The Anderson/Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum is a 55,000 s.f. museum overlooking the balloon launch field of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Park.  The museum is an international visitor destination which is tied to the world famous Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.  The Balloon Museum is designed to architecturally suggest an inflating balloon at the entry and an inflated balloon at the main 75’ tall gallery.

The design theme of the Balloon Museum experience is lighter than air flight, and the associated physics, histories and adventures associated with ballooning.  An immersive film and balloon flight simulators are part of the visitor experience.  The building has balconies, roof decks, and a large plaza in front of the balloon gallery for spectator viewing of the Balloon Fiesta event.
