The Merillat Manufacturing Facility is located in Los Lunas, NM on a 50 acre site adjacent to the interstate highway. The building consists of a 340,000 sf cabinet manufacturing area with a 22,000 sf office/administrative area. The plant portion contains an assembly area, cabinet finishing area, rack storage and shipping area. There are twenty-seven truck bays with dock levelers.
The design of the building and the electrical and mechanical infrastructure provides flexibility for changes in production and equipment layouts. The administrative area contains offices, conference room, training area and computer center as well as a break room sized large enough to accommodate weekly meetings of the 350 employees per shift. This space also serves as a lunch area. An exterior patio off the break room provides another employee area.
Parking is provided for 350 automobiles with an expansion area for up to 1000 spaces. There is truck parking for twice the number of truck bays. Design and construction of this fast track project began in October 2005 and was completed June of 2006. The project cost was $20 Million.
