NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH STATEWIDE FACILITIES MASTER PLAN
Albuquerque, New MexicoIn February 2004, Architectural Research Consultants, Inc. (ARC) and Studio Southwest Architects Inc. were selected to provide facility analysis and master planning services for the New Mexico Department of Health (DOH). The purpose of the project was to anticipate and plan for required capital improvements to meet current and long-term programmatic requirements for the department’s six primary care facilities located throughout the state. The facilities were:
- Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center, Albuquerque
- Turquoise Lodge, Albuquerque
- Fort Bayard Medical Center, Silver City
- New Mexico Rehabilitation Center, Roswell
- New Mexico Veteran’s Home, Truth or Consequences
- Las Vegas Medical Center, Las Vegas
The process began with an analysis of existing programs. Interviews were conducted with DOH management in Santa Fe and at each location. Facility managers completed in-depth surveys. In conjunction with these activities, team members compiled information about the functional performance, the physical condition, historical status and compliance with building codes for each facility. This information was checked against complementary information collected by another team.
