NEW MEXICO FARM & RANCH HERITAGE MUSEUM

Las Cruces, New Mexico

The New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum is a 70,000 s.f. project that celebrates the rich history of farming and ranching in southern New Mexico. The facility includes 26,000 s.f. of exhibits, support space, collections storage, gift shop, a 150 seat film and presentation theatre, restaurant, and extensive exterior exhibits. The project sits on a 47 acre site master planned for exterior exhibits, working agricultural displays, an outdoor performance/rodeo arena, and livestock viewing.

The building design concept incorporates the history of New Mexican farm & ranch architecture from Anasazi times to the present. Site landscaping is designed as a working demonstration of unique New Mexican crops such as chili, pecans, corn (maize), etc. Small plots and orchards are designed to demonstrate farm products and livestock hybrids developed in New Mexico.
