SFCC Health Sciences Center

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Studio SW has created a modern state-of-the-art learning facility that has expanded the community college’s health and science programs by providing three new nursing labs, two biology labs, a dental lab, a static lab for Emergency Medical Services Institute training, and simulations labs, complete with human patient simulators and a central control viewing room. In addition to academic and training facilities, the Health and Sciences Building houses an 8,200 sf dental clinic operated by La Familia Medical Center to provide dental health services to families and individuals.

This LEED Gold certified building includes an inviting courtyard and a “living wall,” which is a 20-foot-high by 17-foot-wide plant wall biofilter that improves indoor air quality and improves energy efficiency. This project was designed in a joint venture with Diamond + Schmitt Architects.
