Operated by the State of New Mexico Department of Health, the primary focus of this hospital is to provide medical rehabilitation, mental health, substance abuse treatment, and detoxification services. It is built adjacent to the Health Science Center Building on the campus of Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) in Roswell. This specialized rehabilitation facility houses 43 beds and provides physical and occupational outpatient services. The facility includes a state-of-the-art rehabilitation/therapy pool, and gymnasium.

With calming treatment rooms and an open outdoor therapy courtyard, the building design creates an optimistic environment for the patients and staff. Although user groups changed during the design phase, the open lines of communication and Studio SW’s ability to manage changing expectations kept the project moving forward successfully.
